About

Fabric filter baghouses are the most widely used dust collectors. They pull contaminated air through fabric bags that trap dust on their surface, while clean air passes through and exits. The bags are cleaned using methods like compressed air pulses, shaking, or reverse airflow. Known for their high efficiency, baghouses can capture even very fine, dry dust from processes such as woodworking, grinding, welding, or blasting. Cartridge collectors work on a similar principle but use pleated cartridges instead of bags, offering more surface area in a compact unit. They are best suited for light, fine dust in areas with limited space but are less effective for heavy, abrasive, or moist particles.

Cyclonic separators use centrifugal force to separate larger particles from the air. As air spins inside a cylindrical chamber, heavy dust is flung to the walls and falls into a hopper, while cleaner air exits from the top. These systems are commonly used as pre-cleaners before baghouses or cartridge collectors, or in applications where coarse dust needs to be removed efficiently.
